Vienna

Margarethen lies next to Wieden between Gürtel and Wienzeile and is mostly a working-class suburb. There are no major attractions, besides the Flea Market in Wienzeile, which takes place every Saturday. Margarethen was once an estate of the same name and was built into a castle. Though it was destroyed in both Turkish sieges of Vienna, it was rebuilt each time. The mainly rural district has recently been filled with workers and residential homes. This district is home to the Volkstheater, literally "the people's theatre". Review © 2009, Wcities
